As 2011 draws to a close I thought I'd look back at some of the highlights from the past year, and give some thought to what my plans for the next year might include.
Highlight of 2011
PocketMod Spellbook - Introducing the idea of Origami books as an RPG accessory
Gryph Con - My first time running a game at a convention
Citadel of Evil - Wins Best Design in the 2011 One Page Dungeon Contest
One Page PocketModule - Introducing the PocketMod format for RPG adventures
CD Case GM Screen - Recycle old CD Cases into a DIY Game Master Screen
OSR Logo - This logo has become very popular
Weird West Roleplaying Game - I published my first game, and it was quite popular!
GM Merit Badges - These boycott style badges for gamers were also very popular.
OSR Con - I ran a game of Weird West at OSR Con in Toronto
Tomb of the Overfiend - Another one-page dungeon that won a prize -- a subscription to Loviatar
Fantasy Illustrations - I did more artwork in 2011 than I have in years!
Roi Du Ring - I discovered a neat new game and spend some time building terrain.
In 2011 I also found myself reflecting on how gaming's history of moral panic and how those resembled the treatment of other outsider media like horror comics and heavy metal music. I also found myself disagreeing with some of the popular sentiments of gamers on social media about various issues relating to art and acceptable content.
Looking Ahead to 2012
All in all it was a busy year for my gaming hobby. In 2012 I hope to get more Face to Face gaming time (2011 saw a fair amount of videochat based gaming) as well as increasing the amount of art and gaming material I produce. Some changes for the blog are probably in order... and with any luck I'll make some things that people will love and/or hate. ;)

I ran Citadel of Evil for some people at Red Box Vancouver a few weeks ago and it was very fun. One guy said it was the first time he'd ever played a game where one of the PCs got high and ran away.
Lots of good stuff, I enjoy your blog.
We ran the Citadel, good times.
